No. Our hub is set up so you can connect it directly to your internet router, and it comes with 4G cellular backup, so if you don't have internet, no problem. This dual ethernet/4G connection means that if your internet goes down, your security system will keep working.

Our sensors connect to the hub via a radio connection. Our cameras do require a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection, but they are the only equipment items that rely on Wi-Fi.

No. When you sign up for a Cove monitoring plan, we handle the 4G cellular connection and subscription ourselves. It is completely separate from your personal cell phone plan. If you're concerned about the coverage in your area, you can always give us a try with our 60-day money-back guarantee.
If your power goes out, you might be alone in a dark house with no Netflix, but Cove will continue to protect your home. The hub includes a 24-hour backup battery to protect your home during power outages.

To initiate the installation process, begin by connecting your hub and touchscreen panel to a power source. Once powered, wait for the indicator light signaling network connectivity before proceeding to connect the touchscreen panel. Our on-screen installation guide will then seamlessly guide you through the process of naming and strategically positioning each sensor within your home.

For added convenience, adhesive strips are provided with each device to facilitate effortless sensor placement. The duration of setup is contingent upon the quantity of sensors being installed. Should you encounter any challenges during setup, our dedicated customer support team stands ready to provide assistance.

The touchscreen serves as the primary interface through which users engage with the system. Given its pivotal role, we recommend installing it in a location that is quick to access when entering and exiting the premises. Should you require multiple accessible touchscreens, the hub will support up to four.
